Security as a philosophy
AES-256
All documents are encrypted on the server side by one of the strongest block ciphers available, 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256). Additionally, the keys are stored in a different location.

Two-step authentication
To provide uttermost security, FireStarter provides the ability to enable two factor authentication for your account. Two–step verification or two–step authentication is a method of confirming a user’s claimed identity by utilizing something they know (password) and a second factor other than something they have or something they are. FireStarter adds this second factor by integrating Google’s authenticator.

BCrypt & Zero-knowledge password proof
Evidently, we do not store plain text passwords. FireStarter uses bcrypt to store the hashed version of your password. Why? If someone steals your database, they only have access to the hashes — not the passwords. Bcrypt avoids misuse of hashing functions and protects your passwords against any brute force attacks.
